Add-ons: let the buyer tick an extra

An add-on is a product the buyer can tick under the tiers to add to the same order, like gift wrapping or a card. You can give each add-on a percent off. An offer can have three add-ons.

  1. In the offer's editor, find "Add-ons" and press "Add an add-on". Choose the product in Shopify's picker.
  2. If the product has several variants, choose the one the buyer adds.
  3. In "Words", write what the buyer reads beside the box, like "Add gift wrap". Leave it empty to use the product's name.
  4. In "Percent off", type a number to take that percent off the add-on's price. Leave it empty to sell it at its price.
  5. Turn on "Ticked when the page opens" if the box should start ticked. The buyer can still untick it.

With a percent off, the discount takes it off one unit of the add-on, and the cart and the checkout name it with the words you wrote, in the buyer's language when you translated them on the Languages page. The product page, the cart and the checkout show the same price.

An add-on has its discount when the cart holds a product of the offer, and one unit of the add-on gets it, however the add-on got into the cart. A product that is sold out, not on your Online Store or a gift card cannot be an add-on, and Publish says which. An add-on cannot be the offer's own product.
