Subscribe and save: let the buyer choose a plan

If your store sells subscriptions, an offer can show them. Under the tiers, the buyer chooses "One-time purchase" or "Subscribe and save". This app makes no subscriptions: your subscription app (Shopify Subscriptions, Recharge, Appstle, Seal and others) puts plans on the product, and the offer shows the plans the product has.

  1. Make a plan for the product with your subscription app, if it has none.
  2. In the offer's editor, find "Subscribe and save" and switch on "Offer the product's subscription plans". Under the switch the page says which plans the product has.
  3. Switch on "Subscription chosen when the page opens" if you want the subscription chosen first. The buyer can still choose "One-time purchase".

What the buyer sees. With the subscription chosen, every tier is priced on the plan: each item costs what the plan makes of it, and the tier's discount comes off that price. The crossed-out price is the one-time price, so the saving counts both the plan's and the tier's. "Subscribe and save" shows what the plan takes off, like -15%. If the product has several plans, the buyer chooses one from a list.

What gets offered. Only plans that deliver again and again and charge each delivery as it comes. A plan that delivers once, like a pre-order, and a plan that is paid in advance, like a prepaid year, are not offered. A plan is offered only if every item in the tier has it. Only the product the offer is on goes on the plan: the other products of a set, a free gift and an add-on are bought once.

What the discount does. At checkout the offer's discount comes off the price the plan made, and applies to the first order of the subscription, not to every renewal after it. The plan's own discount, which your subscription app sets, is yours to set there.

If the theme already has a picker for the plans of its own, use only one of the two: the theme's picker does not change the prices in the offer.
